Planning for the Future Team

In a short while we will be developing a planning team that will do background work and research towards the development of our CCP document. Please see chart for some goals and objectives for the team:

Community develops Vision for the Future

    • Vision sets in motion the aspirations of the community
      • Surveys, questionnaires, polls
      • Meetings
      • Open houses

    • Identifies the ideal image of NFN
      • Who we are, where we want to be, what we want to look like
    • Sets direction and purpose for community / leadership / administration / program managers / staff
      • Provides guidance and direction of programs & services
      • Identifies areas of action
      • Inspires people for the betterment of NFN

Develop Goals, Objectives, Programs, Activities

    • Research of the 11 sectors of CCP
      • Examine and research each sector
      • Meetings, one on ones, committee meetings
      • Review of services, programs
      • Review policies, procedures, mandates, mission statements, plans, agreements
    • Identify areas of action
      • Target areas that need more support and identify ways to meet their needs
      • Develop goals / objectives / programs / activities that will bring that target area more success
    • Utilize resources already in place
      • Identify programs / activities already in place and support
    • Target resources that enable the successful development of goal, objectives, programs, activities
      • After identifying shortcomings and much needed areas of action - identify possible funding to enhance the services
      • Implement programs and activities that allow you to reach your goals and objectives
    • Develop Communications Framework
      • Develop communication methods that enable participation between community, leadership, administration, program managers, staff, off-reserve membership
    • Develop an implementation strategy
      • Develop methods and plan that will allow the CCP to unfold
      • Meetings with community, leadership, program managers & staff
    • Develop monitoring strategy
      • Develop methods that allow full review and ways to ensure plan is being acted out and followed as set out by community, and implementation strategy
      • Develop Evaluation methods
      • Develop processes that allow for meaningful evaluation of the plan

Implementation Monitoring & Evaluation

    • Execute the plan as per the implementation strategy
      • Meetings between community, leadership, program managers, staff
      • Review implementation strategy and follow the process in the fashion it lays out
    • Identify areas of action
      • Identify the areas of higher need
      • Start working and implementing the goals and objectives in those areas
    • Execute the monitoring strategy
      • Follow the process as laid out in the monitoring strategy
      • Make recommendations as needed
    • Execute the evaluation methods

    • Every year we move closer towards the vision we review what we’ve accomplished and knock one year off, and add another year to the plan as needed
